For most people bothered by the image, the absurdity of it is what draws their ire. In any other context, it might be laughable, but the 185K+ likes on the post say a lot more about Trump's devoted following than the image itself.

Once again, it's the loyal following and their obsession with "Pope Donald". Can you imagine any other president in history putting something like this up on social media that doesn't immediately cause embarrassment to their supporters? I can't.

As someone who grew up Catholic and later found faith in Christ, I'm concerned about the growing trend of Trumpists viewing him as a spiritual leader. It's a dynamic that's ripe for corruption, where the lines between faith and politics get blurred.
